Need help with noise

I have a 91 with a 302. It has a Jasper Rebuild with about 30K on it. I hear a noise when i accelerate that sounds like an exhaust leak, but i can't hear it when the truck is in park. When in park it sounds perfect. If it was an exhaust leak wouldn't i hear it when the truck was in park and i reved the gas? Any help would be appriciated.

No, if you have a manifold gasket leak you usually can only hear it under load. You could have someone powerbrake the truck while you listen, just make sure you stand off to the side of the truck. It scares me when people stand in front a vehicle when it's being powerbraked

Mine just started making that same noise too but I can hear it while I'm in park but it's really loud when under load. Could it still be an exhaust leak?
Thanks
Nate

An exhuast manifold leak will sound sort of like a bicycle with a card in the spoke, lots of fast clicking/popping noises. If you can here it in park it might be a really bad leak but my experiance is that it's really only noticable when accelerating in gear.

Mine was a crack in the metal EGR tube. Only made a sound under acceleration.

Good Luck
