Thumbs down fuel leak

i have a 1992 ford f-150 well you guys know. my tank is leaking from underneath my tank straps any of you guys had this problem. but my question is can i put a plastic tank in there does it matter and do you know the cheapest place to find one i dont want used cause well im the kind of person if im going to do it do it right any help would be appreciated thanks

the tank itself is damaged? i know jcwhitney carries some polyurethane ones for our trucks, but not sure on the price.

Yeah JCWhitney has the universal polyurathane ones dirt cheap. Although a used one is actually a good way to go. I work at a dealership and when we replace tanks we get used southern tanks. The company we get them from cleans them up paints them and seals the inside. Side by side you can't tell them from a new factory tank, they last just as long, and you can get them for $100. Around here you can get the tanks from any radiator repair shop.
