Raising the Front

I know this may have been discussed time and time again, but I would like to know how I can raise the nose of the truck to match as much as I can the look of an F250. I don't want to spend BIG$$ to do this. I just put new springs and shocks in the front, so I would like to preserve that investment.

I have seen spacers for the springs, and all of that kinda stuff, just looking for something to lift the nose up.

I love the stance of the F250 and F350 trucks. Mu uncle just purchased a New Loaded F350 Diesel PowerStroke, 4 door, long bed, make you wish you were his kid truck. AWESOME STANCE!

For the Record:

1993 F150 XL 4.9L Long Bed.

Thanks,

Justin

I'm geussing it's a 2x4?
The only thing I've heard of for this is leveling springs.

I went to autozone and bought some rubber spring spacers for about $5 and they raised it an 1inch.

SPROCKET_X,

How many spacers did you add per side. Do you think you could add more so it could be closer to two inches. I have been wanting to do this on my truck for a while also to level it out some. But just an inch would make it look much better, and for practically nothing at that.

i got some leveling coils for my 2WD that gave me an additional 1.5" of lift (perfect amount to make the truck level), but they set me back $120

$120.00 is not bad, the stock replacement springs cost me 100.00. I asked the guy about the leveling springs, and he said it would make the truck ride like a buck board. How does yours ride? What can I do for around $200.00?

I added two to each side..a pack comes with 4

I don't think you could add more then that to each side, it stiffened up the ride but since my springs are almost shot I think it made it nicer. No one but me noticed the 1-1 1/2 raise it gave it.

Hey Donate...did you have to get anything else like longer radius arms? Did the leveling coils pop in w/out any alighnment problems?
think I'd be able to put 33's w/out rubing?

to be perfectly honest with you, everyone that rides in my truck often noticed that the ride got a little stiffer after the coils, but i dont notice a thing . i know its stiffer because ive had about 5 or 6 different people tell me that, but its still fine for me.

after the coils i had a lot of alignment problems, so i got some alignment brackets from tuff country and they fixed the problem. i didint need longer radius arms or anything. you will need an alignment after youre done, though. as far as 33's go, if yours is 2WD and all youre doing is the leveling coils, its gonna be a close call. if its 4WD i think youre ok. mine's 2WD and my 33's fit perfectly with the 3" body lift, i later added the coils just to level out the truck. hope this helps!

thats the bad part, they were EXPENSIVE! i believe theyre listed for around $120 in the jcwhitney catalog (the damn brackets were as much as the springs). but since i already had the springs and the misalignment was killing my tires, i just went ahead and bought them. hope this helps!

i was considering this option also . and this kit would be cheaper in the long run,get a better lift and more for your money then what you are talking bout .

FORD 4" LIFT FOR PICK-UP & BRONCO
Lift includes front coil springs, drop down brackets for the I-beams and radius arm brackets. Also included are shock absorbers for the front and rear, rear blocks / u-bolts, and a single steering stabilizer and pitman arm.
Only $449.00

look @ bottom of page

that is a much better option than what i ended up doing, plus it will give you way more ground clearance.

Hey with the engine out of the truck, The front sits right up.. Kinda hard to move along... Kinda like a Flintstone car..... But I have the stance I want, even if only for a few more hours...

Have a good weekend!
