I finally cleaned the engine bay for the 1st time on my 85 F150 with 125K miles on it. It was pretty nasty. But i used gunk and simple green then tire shine and it turned out great. Here's the before and after pic. Sorry about the quality of the pics, a little dark, but it'll give ya an idea. Its like 100 x's better now.

thanks. It was pretty easy to do. I just got those glad cover things with the elastic, and covered the battery and distributer and sprayed it down with high pressure. Worked great. Not super clean like new, but it doesn look 100x's better and all the plastic is clean now and alot of the grease is off.

next i gotta do it on my 00HD truck. That should be even easier though cuz its only got 20K miles and the engine's only dustyl

 

You did a fine job cleaning it up looks like it just rolled off the line.
