I just installed a new cluster went from one without a tach to one with a tach. Simple install and everything works. On mine there were 2 big plugs 1 small one and the transmission wire all very easy.

Sounds easy!
I'm just waiting on the white face gauges from RPM overlay.

I'm thinking i might have to take the needle indicators off to place the white face gauges on......i tried the other day and none of them would budge. I didn't want to force them just incase i don't have to remove them.
Anybody have any ideas if i have to remove them?

Thanks,
Jerry D

I was also trying to figure out how to remove them since I have a cluster to play around with. Where did you get your white gauges from what website?

Check out http://www.gt350mustang.com/wfg/wfg.html

Its the only place i could find that had white face gauges for my year truck.
I should have them in by the end of the week.........i'll let u know how i make out.

Also, one of my friends gave me a suggestion on how to get the red indicators off.........he said try heating them up with a hair drier........we'll see?

The needles just pop off, but it works best if done from as close to the center, and from underneath. BUT, be careful not to let the needle pin (that the needle sits on) rotate. I found out the hard way that when the needle comes off, the gauge rotates past where the stop was, and is no longer accurate. Try attaching some needle nose vise grips to it as soon as the needle comes off, and then note it's position.

Take care,
-Chris

I had a problem switching mine out. I had to replace when I bought the pickup because the speedo head was bad. The first one the dealer ordered me apparently didn't have the stuff for the ABS light and the brake light, so after putting it in, my ABS light came on as soon as I started the pickup and wouldn't go out. I would up taking it to a mechanic because I thought there was something wrong with the ABS (this is after replacing the sensor) and he was able to find out what was wrong and get me the correct cluster. Luckily I didn't have to pay for the replacement.

i finally put the white face gauges in..........not too bad and it looks pretty good.
It took the jack*ss over 3 weeks to send it to me....but it was worth the wait.
I have my old instrument cluster if anybody needs one....works great.
As soon as i get a chance i'll post some pics.

I am in need of an instrument cluster for 1995 f150 4.9l 4x4 5-spd. All works on the cluster except temp gauge. Replaced both 2 prong sensor and the
and the single terminal sending unit for the coolant temp. Mechanic says cluster needs to be replaced. OBD! unit gives a error reading of 118. Check engine light comes on. Unable to locate cluster for sell. Google lists your truck as a 5-spd, but the picture you shoiw on this forum with the tach looks like it foran automatic, Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
