You know that kind of sucks that Ford doesn't have greaseable ones in there to begin with...but I geuss it's all about money these days.

ok well got both both u joints in with no problem..took about 2 hours but it didn't fix the problem.
I relized that the clunk noise I'm hearing is actualy coming from the tranny. It kind of clunks right when I release the clutch sometimes.I hear it sometimes when I take off from 1st from a stop or sometimes when I push in the clutch to slow down and shift into 2nd or 1st. A few months ago I got the clutch changed at pepboys but we had a problem and the whole thing got kind of ugly...they forgot to put a new slave in then wanted me to pay for labor to have them put one in after it was all together but they ended up putting it in for free but they weren't happy about it. So I'm think they may not have tightened a bolt on the flywheel or they put a nut or bold in the bottum of the tranny so when I take off it clunks the back of the tranny and when I slow down it rolls to the front of the tranny and clunks.

To make things worse I just lost my job with the phone company about 2 weeks ago because of this damn economy right now so I don't realy have the money to take it in somewhere to get looked at so I'll probly have to wait a month untill I can find a new job so I can afford taking it in some where.

WOOHOO I fixed it!!!
Well when I took out the drive shaft to put the u joints in I noticed the yoke didn't have any grease on the inside with the splines but I didn't think anything of it...then I was thinking about it lastnight so I posted it on another thread if I should grease it or not and PKRWUD said I should use a high temp grease...so I used grease for packing bearings(hi temp) and I put a gob of it on the yoke and put everything back together and no clunking!!

Thanks guys

Be careful.. I don't think Steve allows that type of thing on this site!!!

I'm about due for U joints myself. As cheap as they are I like to do them before they give me problems.
