QUICK!!! Need help!!!
a relay has 4 terminals on it . on one side would be a ground . the other side oposite the ground will go to the switch . the switch then runs to a power supply . on the other two terms. will be a fused battery circut to the relay and out of the relay to the lights . yes straight 12volt trough a switch will burn it up . the lights pull to many amps . but . i would suggest connecting them instead of to a switch(but still through a relay)to the high beam wiring on your headlights so they come on with the high beams . in most states this is the only legal way to wire them if they are off road lights of any thing over a certain candle power (check local laws for legal candle power ) and normally if you have a white wire and a black wire the BLACK wire is hot ,the WHITE wire is ground .
and JW 4x4 . people like that is why i make a living doing what i do ....lmao

So, can he just take his pig tail (B+) and splice right into the hi-beam B+, then ground the lights near where they sit, on chassis? Fuse and relay the +?

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe that this is the way the relay is used.
On the lights, the black should be ground and the white wires are tied together as the " + " positive side. Oh, the switch can be fused too if you want, I used a lighted switch because I have them tied into my parking lights. I know when they are on and when they are not.
Hope this helps and let us know how is goes.
