How much have you towed?

How much have you guys towed with an F150? Just kinda curious - I will be towing a 5000# boat (including trailer) with a 1990 F150 4x4, 4.9L. May step up to a bigger boat sometime.

i've towed across town a van type 12' trailer with all my heavy stuff in it . i was sitting on the stop bumpers . i tow on a regular basis a 19' bow rider boat of a friends and it sets me down . thats why i got overloads and put them on . that is the only bad thing i have bout the truck . suspension sucks . plenty of power

My 95 F-150 has the tow package on it and I am able to pull a 12' flatbed trailer with a large tractor on it. Probably weighs about 5,500#.

I'll have to see just how much my boat drops the *** end. I put Helwig helpers on my Tacoma.
I'm surprised there aren't guys towing larger boats with a 1/2 ton - guess I'll check out OffShoreOnly.com

Most i've towed is a 1500# construction air compressor, couldn't even tell it was there. Most i've pushed was a 3000#? broken down Chevy S-10 that died in front of me in heavy traffic (couldn't go around or back up). The guy said he didn't care about his tailgate so i pushed him down the street around a corner and into a parking lot.

I wounldnt recomend this, but I pulled a 18 ft car trailer with a cadillac hearse on it. I stopped at a feed mill on the way home and the scale said 13150 lbs. I figure that my truck (92 ext cab 4x4) weighs about 5200 so you guys can do the math. I would never do it again, it was pretty scary. But the hearse was free if I would haul it off and it made an EXCELLENT demolition derby car.

with my 67 F250 i kept on it all the time a 300# camper shell and about 1000#'s of tools . i towed a 40' park model trailer behind it weighing at least 10.000 . also had put 5200 #'s of melamine faced 3/4 plywood in it . (not at the same time ...lol) was a hell of a truck .

I towed a 38' Fountain offshore rig on a triple axle trailer. Not quite sure what it weighed in at. It was just to help out a friend who finally killed his tranny, and was stuck on the highway.

Actually it towed quite well. Stopping was my big concern. We kept speed down, but I was still hoping those trailer brakes were up to the job.
