Not Happy.

yesterday as I arrived at my bosses house to finish work on the Sprint car for the races today, my e-brake cable broke. He lives on his own little mountian, and has a long, twisty uphill driveway. Didn't make me feel to secure, but leaving it in gear works fine (so far). Pissed me off, though. Why couldn't this have happened a few weeks ago when I had the dang e-brake assembly out while servicing the ECM?!?!? Oh well. Just venting.

Take care,
-Chris

Me to. I changed a front u-joint a month ago. Got in a rush and just slapped everything together. Last week the automatic hub "stuck" while wife was driving it. She had it towed because she thought she frigged it all up. My neighbor the mechanic called me at work and said he couldn't find anything wrong. I had no idea she had it towed!! "what the hell did she do to my truck!" So I call my wife and she was all upset. She thought she broke an axle. Said it felt like she was driving over bolders.

Anyways, thats why I put the Warns in Friday.

Chris, if you could post some info on the e-brake cable replacement I would appreciate it, my rear passenger e-brake cable is broke, found that out when I replaced my cylinder yesterday. Thanks again!

My cable broke right at the foot pedal assembly. I removed the cable from the asembly to the splitter under the back of the cab where the two cables to the rear wheels meet. I plan on just replacing the front cable that broke, but I'll look into the other for you, and see what I can find out.

I'll let you know.

Take care,
-Chris

Hey Chris,

Since it seems you are the e-brake bracket guru, do me a favor also. Just drive out here to the east coast, pull mine off and tell me what my computer code is!

Look at the bright side, I still haven't had time to take mine off for a good reason....

Sure. How's Tuesday morning?

Dude, it's three 9/16 (14mm) nuts and an electrical connector. You can do it. I have faith in you.

Take care,
-Chris

If I just wait a few more months, my little girl should be able to tackle it.

I'm glad I did most of the stuff I wanted to get done on the truck soon after I bought it. Hell I haven't even washed it in a couple of months!

I do have some 500 watt halogen flood lamps. I could just set them up and work on the truck at 2 am instead of logging on the site.....
