Just wondering if anyone has installed a k&n fipk kit to a 4.9L..cuz I was looking at the pics of it and I dunno if the pics are of the one they send me or if it's a universal pic cuz I don't see where the mass airflow sensor(or whatever that plug with wires) hooks up to it.Anyone know if it comes with it or what?

 

I think PKRWUD has one of those.
They should send you the correct pipe for your application. It'll be hard to frig it up.

You must have a '96. That was the first and only year the 4.9L had a MAF (with a few 95's reported, but not seen by me). Anyway, the FIPK for the 4.9L SD engines is the same as the one for the 5.0L SD engines. Unless the kit you're looking at says it is specifically for the MA 4.9L (1996), it is probably the SD design. I would really be surprised if K&N would go to the trouble of designing an FIPK for a 1 year application, but it is possible. What part number are you looking at?

In any case, if there isn't a specific FIPK for the MA 4.9L, odds are that an FIPK for a MA 5.0L F-150 would work fine.

Of course your right..I've got a 96 4.9L..... I'm looking at part # 57-2510-1 I don't see the MAF on the picture but in the description it says w/mass air so thats probly just a universal pic.
I'm looking at it at http://www.4wheelparts.com/kn.asp...I just looked for it under the 5.0 engine and it's the same part #...Thanks again PKRWUD

 

That's good to go. The part number for the SD F-150s (4.9L & 5.0L) is 57-2503.
