Anyone know how much an 86 f-150 302 efi has?? my buddy has one w/ 230k miles on it, and swears that w/ headers, dual exhaust, and k & n filter, it has 300+ hp. Let me know what real numbers are.

 

Not even close. The highest rated 5.0 was in the last few years and then it was 210 HP 275 lb ft.

The 5.0s respond well to mods, but in '86 the stock output was probably closer to 170-180. I would guess that at best his mods may have brought his output up to that of the later trucks.

 

Your buddies truck came with 170 hp, and with his mods, a prayer, and a copy of "Gone in 60 seconds" on the front seat, he might break 200 hp on an old, worn out dyno. 300hp??? Your friend watches too much TV.
