When i got the '77 off the trailer, noticed the speedometer needle going all over the place, then died. Owner who sold it says, ''worked fine for me". replaced cable, still no luck, noticed cable burnt by header, replaced, kept away from hot surface, still bouncing around everywhere until finally stops, odometer not moving either.
1st, none of new cables fit properly on back of speedo housing, new ones have a longer shroud at end, had to cut down all of them to fit properly, original one on truck was very short, got longer one, burnt up, replaced, still same issue, replaced again, same issue, but not burnt up, gave up...??
