351/5.8 Swap

been a while since i’ve been on here. since passing the old 95 F150 to my son, the old truck has been met with some teenage challenges. fast forward to today, and we have swamped in a 96 5.8l for the old factory 5.0.

i’ve got the truck started however, when i’m timing the truck, i’m not able to turn the distributor all the way i want because the wiring to the distributor is catching. is there any pigtail extensions in the market for the distributor? i need about a 4

inches of wire

Perhaps you can pull the distributor and turn the gear on the bottom one tooth?

Here you go:

https://www.fordservicecontent.com/p...torcatalog.pdf

Match it up and make up your own pigtail.

That book has gotten me out of many of problems!
