How hard would it be to swap a 4.9 manual to a 5.0 automatic? Also what would I need to complete the swap? Thanks in advance for any advice.

 

Before anyone can offer advice, you need to provide all the pertinent information on the year model, and transmission type of the donor vehicle. 87 to 91 models are eighth generation and if the donor vehicle is that it would be easier, not to be confused with easy.

 

You would need a non-computer controlled automatic such as a C6 or AOD. You would also need an appropriate ECM and wiring harness.
