I have a new 351W crate engine in this truck and when I cranked it for the first time I heard a loud clanking sound. Looking under the truck I found the starter hanging down with one ear of the housing broke off. I put a new starter on and it engages the flexplate but can't turn it.

I removed the plugs and tried to turn by the crank but can't budge it; tried to turn it by hand at the dust plate and it seems jammed solid. The only cause I can think of is perhaps a bolt from the torque convertor broke off and jammed the flexplate. I don't know where to go from here unless it is to drop the tranny and try to disengage it off the vehicle.

I would appreciate any advice the community can provide. Thanks in advance.

was the torque converter all the way in the tranny when you bolted the motor to it
