1992 4.9 4x4 turning and binding

Hello. My 1992 f150 with the 4.9l really hops and binds and something sounds like it snaps when I turn in 4x4. I replaced ball joints and u joints appear okay, no side to side or end play, so not sure what's going on. It's almost impossible to turn in 4x4 low. I know tierods need to be replaced but it seems to be more than just that causing problem. Any ideas where to look or how to diagnose wood be greatly appreciated.

I hope you aren't driving it in 4x4 low or high on pavement. 4x4 is not all wheel drive.

Hopping and binding is normal in 4wd when you try to turn on dry pavement or any high traction surface.

I was driving on pavement. Just got it not to long ago and trying to make sure everything works as it should. I know it would pop but just seemed worse than I've heard in other vehicles. I'll jack it up and check things out that way and see if it checks out.

Don't drive it in 4wd on pavement unless you keep it perfectly straight, and only do it long enough to see that it works. If you do this again, you could break something.
