1988 clutch problems and mystery part in bell housing

Hey everyone, I would really appreciate your help on this! I'm new to the site, so a little background:
1988 f150 XLT Lariat
4.9 124k 5 speed manual

I bought the truck not running in December. Replaced the distributor, oil pump, fuel pressure regulator, some fuel lines, brakes in front, wheel cylinder, and calipers. Now the truck finally runs and I was really excited to drive out of the garage. Put it in first gear, and nothing happens.

The engine runs and can rev.
The transmission can be shifted between all gears no problem.
I looked at the slave cylinder and it was moving back and fourth, though not a ton.

Does anyone know what it could be? The truck just sits there first gear , reverse, doesn't matter what gear I put it in it is not budging.

There should be two attached pictures, one is this small silver cylinder that's busted on the back. I have no idea what that is as everything on the slave cylinder looks completely assembled. I stuck my hand in the Bell housing when the truck was off, just feeling around, and found that.

Turns out it was a bad transmission.
