Engine bucks and jerks and won't accelerate
Engine bucks and jerks and won't accelerate
I have a 1989 f150 6 cylinder with a standard transmission.
Upon acceleration the engine bucks and was doing better when I would either rev the engine and let the clutch engage slowly. I replaced the throttle position sensor and there was partial relief but now it went back to its old ways. And the engine sometimes will not even rev up starting from a light for a period (few seconds) and again I must rev it up a lot and then let the clutch engage which also results in burning the clutch.
For a while after replacing the TPS, it was better but it always bucked when it was cold and during acceleration but now it I give it full throttle it buck like a mechanical bull in a bar.
also, does this model have one of those fault or code reader? If there is, can you tell me which one I need to get?
