filter problem
filter problem
I went to change the fuel filter this morning and prev owner must have put the wrong one on. The lines are right up against the sides and I can't pull back to get the clip release in.

Then there's no caption, which makes the picture nearly useless. And even if I posted the captions too, that wouldn't show the hits like the SMN link does, which is how I gauge the usefulness of pics I upload. It would also just duplicate the problem for the (MANY) captions that contain more links.

cutting
what do you suggest cutting the line with? looks like in the pic dykes were used. I am a little jumpy around sparks and gas. wonder if thats pot metal or aluminum
Thanks a bunch for the pics they really helped, Cam

There is no pot metal or Aluminum in the fuel system. The filter body & nipples are stainless. Diags don't produce sparks, but they do distort the tube, which might make picking the bail out more difficult.
Thanks! it is done
The pictures helped me. I really do appreciate that help.
I ended up using a fine hack saw blade and continual spraying from a water bottle. Not so great when the gas started running out! After cutting them off I used my scissor type collar tool to release the bail and then squeezed it on the tube it pulled right out. What a pain but it was filthy dirty..
since it sat for so long I'll change it again in a couple of months
Thank you, Cam
