'91 F150 auto tranny question

just picked up this truck 2 weeks ago....dont know what trans is in it...302 motor....but when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd the converter locks up immediately.
it drops in RPM from say 2000 to 1200 which then feels like it falls on its face. any ideas guys? i want to put a picture up but cant figure it out yet.

must be a E4OD but I dont have a OD lockout switch...unless its hidden..
where can a find a list of gearing info... I think its 18 or 19. rear gear.

If you don't have a lockout switch, you have an AOD (code T) which is not electronically controlled, it uses a TV cable from the throttle linkage. If your quadrant is PRN(D)D1 it's AOD, if it's PRN(D)21 it's E4OD (code E) which is electronically controlled.

Lockout switch for a E4OD is on the lower dash, right side of the steering column if I remember correctly.

19 rear gear is open 3.55, 18 is open 3.08.

If you have AOD, there's a procedure to adjust the TV cable, there are some YouTube clips on it.
