1988 f150 351w fuel problems

1988 f150 351w fuel problems
Have an 88 with a 351w and for some reason the fuel pump only works if I unplug and the replug. All wires look good.
What could cause this?

I don't know, but you could try changing the relay with another one on the truck and see if that helps.

That was my plan so far. Won't get to work on it until this evening. It has dual tanks but supposedly one tank is disconnected. Idk if this would have any affect. Do both tanks run off of the same relay?
