Difference in 302!!!!

Cool Difference in 302!!!!

can someone tell me the difference between a 91 mustang 302 and a 95 F-150 302? i am looking for the difference in the heads and the short block itself piston? rods? any help would be appreciated

Mustang has higher compression and a higher lift and longer duration cam.

arent the heads different also? i thought the exhaust ports on both engines were not aligned the same.

87 and up HO engines have the same heads as the trucks, only 85 and 86 ho heads are different. They have different combustion chambers


5.0 EXPLORER Heads are different from truck and HO heads. The spark plug area is different and the exhaust ports are different. Explorer heads are also called GT40P heads

can you use heads designed for mustangs on a truck if theyre both 87 or up? just wondering, thanks!

Yup-sure can. You can actually use the 86 heads also,but they dont flow well-that is why ford changed them.

86 mustangs had 200 HP
87 and up had 225 HP
