starting problem after rebuild

ok i drove my f150 into my garage i pulled the engine and trans. i regasketed the engine threw in a new oil pump timing set crower stage 2 efi cam and lifters. got it all done put back in got all the connections back together everything tight n primed. go to start it and it wants to start but wouldn't. so i checked the spark got good spark. checked the fuel rail got good pressure. but i noticed when i turn the distributor the fuel pump kicks on and off so i stayed some starting fluid into the throttle body n it popped right off. could it be something in the distributor telling the computer to cut off the fuel? i also tried replacing the modual on the side of the distributor made no difference.

Are you sure your distributor isn't off by 180°?
Also, EFI engines aren't like carbed engines. The #1 spark plug wire has to be on the post marked #1 on the distributor cap

i spun the wires 180 and i popped n back fired bad if i spray startin fluid in it will run. and i hear the fuel pump run and the fuel rail has pressure. if i rotate the distributor it will cycle the fuel pump i changed the modual with one that came off a running engine same deal got spark im wondering if it could be the stator

it seams like either the injectors arnt firing or the fuel pressure is dropping off during cranking

The injectors are controlled by the PIP sensor in the distributor. Make sure it is connected.

ok for kick this morning i went out and tryed to start it up and guess what...... it kicked right off sounds like it has a little bit of a miss so later im goin to recheck all the plugs and maked sure all the wires are good. i guess maybe the computer was relearning the sensors.
