july 30 update

Axle is hanging via coils, 7* bushings in, ra's aren't in place yet but from the looks of it this is too much lift for the stock ra brackets and stock ra's so Ill be using drop brackets from my ttb. Too dark for pictures Ill get them up tomorrow, looks so much better then ttb already

radius arms are such a pain, if I ever do a d60 swap Ill be buying extended arms intended for 80-96 f150 sas. Need to do a little cutting and modifying for the ttb brackets to line up on frame right ( because of the location) and eventually Ill get pics up

Same problem we had doin 3 of my friends SAS's (86 F150, 87 f150, 96 F150) using the 6" TTB rad arm brackets. In all honesty, its gunna be weak around those drops, the flex and stress is a lot. All 3 friends added a crossbar to tie the radius arms together, all experienced death shake. I went with the stock style 79 rad brackets and had another friend cut them back 22* to account for the frame width difference. Mine went in like a glove, while the other 3 had to put one arm in and ratchet strap the other from a bench to get em far enough apart.

For shocks, i suggest Bilstien 5100s. Also tie the track bar bracket into the front engine crossmember.

middle picture is a plain and simple idea, as well as I mite make an actual frame rail to frame rail cross member there, are you saying they had problems before or after they x membered it?

I found that my lift was just a little too big to do the stock brackets the angle wouldn't of been good. I also liked the ttb brackets better then the drop bracket extensions for a 78/79. I've been slacking on pictures but just got my james duff track bar mount in mail yesterday So all I have left to buy is order my shocks and figure out what exactly I want to do with brakes, whole bunch of people telling me different things

Before the tied the radius arms together. I would hae perfered them some kind of frame to frame brace bec ause i could see that causing a bind (middle pic, friends bracinjg) but maybe not.

bolted on, full drop, pictures of it on 4 wheels soon to come Ill be picking up new (to me) rims tonight with some bald bald swampers on em. I just need the rims any way

Now I just need to decide between bilstien 5150's vs 5100's vs fox 2.0's, any opinions or other good shocks, willing to dish out a little money because Im only running single shock up front for now so want quality up there

The 5150s are 5100s but custom lenght/valving. I run the 5150s up front and the 5100s out back.

Ok thanks thats good to know, I dont have a clue about valving and all that stuff, I imagin I want like 4-5" of up travel and 9-10 down so 14 " travel for the fronts (I think maybe 12" would be better?) but as Im sure you can tell, Im no genius on shocks

What i would do is measure the distance, at ride height, from the top n bottom shock mount center to center. Then max the suspension out up and down.

Since i couldnt do that, i did the first step and gave myself 4" of up travel and 8" of down travel for a total of 12" of movement. This is with stock radius arms and Superlift 4" coils.

Honestly, i seen ur over on FSB so id ask there. They gave me help on measuring for shocks.

Ah, i seen ur running the stock coil towers...i swapped in some 70s coil towers and 80-97 F250/350 upper shock mounts. Hmm, i dont know them...
