F150 battery alternator blues!!

ive left my lights on a few times in the past couple years and the battery just wouldnt hold any juice anymore, even after a full trickle charge it would only work for a handful of starts. So i went to costco and got a new battery, which worked fine for 2 short in-town trips, then the next morning it was dead (i didnt leave the lights on this time!)

does this sound like an alternator? or any other suggestions??
if its the alternator is that a fairly easy replacement that i could handle myself? i learn pretty fast but id rate my know-how on car engines a 1/5.

thanks in advance yawl

Get a jump and drive it over to the parts store and have the battery and alternator tested out in the parking lot, free.

I think I need a battery myself the truck has been sitting for days and now it wont start the all you can hear is the battery trying to start clicking, lol. I called Sears and they want $20 to test the system on top of the new battery I am still using the Motorcraft battery that came with my truck when I purchased it new so I guess it is time for a new one

Sears wants $20? Take it to Advance or Autozone and get them tested free.
