No you wont need the chrome it would be a waste. Wheel it as is and upgrade if you break it. Unless your in the rocks your really going nuts you are going to have a hard time breaking it with 37's. Many guys run 37's on d44s

Talked to my uncle on making the bar/bracket thing for leaf springs he said he would do it and his friend has the machine to shorten my driveshaft for the 10.25 so I'm now 100% doing a Dana 60 now the search for one begins haha.

Nice, leaf sprung d44 could always do the trick If ya can find one cheap. If you weren't all the way in carolina I could help you out with cheaper d60's but obviously your too far. Good luck with the search though!

IF i have 6 inch lift leaf springs up front could i fit 38s? if i cant fit the 38s with just the 6 inch lift i found add a leafs for the front which would make it 9 inch springs but i know they dont make pitman arms that big so i have no idea what to do i will not add a body lift i HATE those things.

So if your doing leafs remember you still need drop brackets/leaf spring hangers, and most likely (id reccomend it) a shackle flip. SO you are adding alot of height there. You should log onto fullsizebronco, they have a great section on leaf sprung d60 swaps, do alot of reading and you will be in great shape

Good i was worried about that and yeah i knew i had to get the drop brackets/leaf spring hangers and new shock mounts. That's another thing i gotta figure out is what shocks im gonna use i was thinking about using skyjacker M95 shocks. they have a shackle flip on bronco grave yard for 170 for a 4.5 inch lift. Heres the link: http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-...-flip-kit.html

I have an 86 that i did the solid axle swap on. went with 79 9inch coils but for now stuck with my original coil towers. i fit 38.5 boggers no problem without a body lift with 3.55 gears and i have a c6 swapped into it. now i got a 10.25 with 4.10 posi and i'm probly gonna just convert the front to 8 lug, but you have to get the knuckles and all off of a chevy d44 thats 8 lug. my buddy did that and his has no problem. I'm swapping the 10.25 in and the 5 speed in a week or so and then if i can find a d60 for the right price i'm gonna set it up and weld the wedges on for coils and possibly make long radius arms. would like to do the leaf swap but this is a little more my speed for now. Read this thread and just wanted to give you a heads up on what i'm doing because you'll have no problem with the d44 up front i would think and you can still 8 lug it to match the back.
