No power to rear wheels !!

Driving along last weekend when suddenly I lost power to my rear wheels.Thought I may have dropped the drive shaft but that is fine. It was just like someone threw the transmission into neutral. I switched into 4 wheel drive and the front differential did engage. Drove it about 6 miles that way in order to get off the interstate. I then pulled over to crawl under her for a quick look and when I got back in the truck it wouldn't move in 4 wheel high. I had to put it in 4 wheel low in order to move. Needless to say my trip ended on a flat bed. The truck is at my cousins 120 miles from here and I'm going up tonight to trouble shoot. I had my cousin crawl under it and try to turn the rear drive shaft with the transmission in neutral and he's telling me that it is engaging the rear differential so I don't think it's a rear differential issue. Looking for suggestions on where to start. Could this be as simple as a shifting motor issue? Also are there any "unusual" tools I'm gonna need if I have to remove the transfer case? My cousin's tool selection leaves a little to be desired. Also if anyone has a link to a decent parts diagram of the transfer case I would appreciate it. Thanks for any help you guy's can give me.

From: In the fast lane from LA to Tokyo...
Need to know the truck details
Year, model, mileage, etc.....

It could have something to do with the t-case shift motor or even the shift fork attached to the motor....

I was under the impression that the output shaft to the rear drive shaft was a straight shot through the transfer case. I can't understand why the power to the rear drive would give up the ghost.....sorry about the previous lack of info. 93 F-150 XLT 302 cid automatic 165,000 miles
