1994 4x4 Problems (Help) Sorry for another thread.

- 1994 F150
- 5.0l Automatic
- Cruise Control (Works)
- Push Button 4wd

- Nothing happening when 4x4 button pressed
- No light comes on
- no sound heard
- Fuses are good, can't about large one yet until I test it.
- Connection on the backside of the button switch is good.

I've been looking non-stop and really don't want to start another thread, but I really just want answers.

Questions
1. How likely is it that the switch has failed?
2. Does anyone have a link to a good step by step diagnosis. One with good pictures would be nice.
3. How do I find the shift control module to self test it?
4. What all should I be looking for and what if anything under the hood should I look for?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

1. can't hurt to grab one from a scrap yard
2. No that would be nice though :-)
3. It is located behind the plastic panel under the dashboard on the passender side inside fender wall, remove the plastic panel on the passenger side inside fender and there is a white box, unplug the two plugs on the side leaving the small square plug plugged in, turn your key to on position push the white test button next to the little red test light and it should flash 4 times, that means it is working internally.
4. check connection with your transfer case switch motor if your control module is good, its located on the back end of your transfercase.
