No. The initial compression of a gas shock adds very, very little to the spring rate and does not provide enough force to cause any measurable change in ride height.

Quit trying to find a work-around. There isn't one. If you need springs buy a pair of springs. But please note that you may not need them. The rear of the truck is supposed to sit several inches higher than the front when the bed is empty.

How times have changed - when I was a kid, the jacked-up look in the rear was cool. Now it's the prerunner look with the front end looking at the sky?

difference is that the higher rear end on a truck is functional if you're ever going to carry a load in it

Meh, just one of those days at work. Had a jet with an internally leaking tank 4 fuel manifold. Turning on tanks 1, 2, and 3's boost pumps to drain them for a defuel operation would leak 1000lbs a minute into tank 4 and the defuel truck was only pumping off 300-400lbs per minute.

"What if you only defuel from 1, 2, and 3?"

"I can't magically close off the leaking line running into tank 4 before the shutoff valve for tank 4."

"Well howbout not opening the fill valve for tank 4?"

"It is leaking before the valve inside tank 4."

"What if you only defuel from 1, 2, and 3?"

"I'm going to stab you. Go drive your Honda."

Ended up having to stop the painfully slow defuel 4 times to painfully slowly transfer out of 4 only a little bit faster than it was leaking back in into the other tanks.

Give us a clue. What is the measurement from center of the hub to the middle of the front wheel well arch?
Also, why are you even considering paying to have shocks and/or springs installed?
It's as simple a job as there is, not much harder than changing the oil and filter. The only trick is that you need a big wrench (I forget the exact size but I had one) to get the nut off the lower spring perch

Sounds like ya have a problem this board can't help you with.

Also you need more periods in your sentences.

It's not a matter of being the grammar police. Nobody is going to care about much less point out point out the difference in usage between "which" and "that" or between "affect" and "effect". It is a matter of using the standard punctuation conventions of the English language to separate your thoughts into concise elements in order that they may be clearly and precisely understood.

In other words, you should do the work in presenting the issue(s). We should not have to do the work in figuring out what it is that you are telling us.
