remove buckets install bench

to the pro's on here....My '93 extended xlt that i bought last month has bucket seats. Can i removed them and be able to install a split bench with a slide up and down console or just a straight bench without the console? if so i'd be a happy camper. what can i expect to pay for the bench and any installation tips is very much appreciated.

I've put jeep buckets in broncos, superduty bench in a '79, Bronco buckets in a K5, so the point is you can do what you want with a drill, new bolts, and some homemade metalwork if needed.

do u have individual buckets or the buckets that are on the bench seat frame "2 buckets and a fold down center seat" if so a regular bench will swap right in

but as adrianspeeder said u can put any seat in with drilling

on these fords its a pain on the passenger side u got to drop the heat shield to get the nut on

Should be easy, the only thing that makes seats hard is the way the extended cab floor is, single and crew cabs are easy.

IIRC only the regular cab and crew cabs had the seats on a slider so no on the bench unless u get a split bench seat from an XL extended cab truck. It would also be possible to use one from an 87-91.

But in short, reg cab n crew cab seats interchange; ext cab and bronco seats interchange for the most part.

hey thanks to all for your help. No frame at all in the truck. horsecrap buckets are seperate. I can't believe ford would make an xlt without a bench seat. what was it a fad back then to have bucket horsecrap seats?i didn't want the truck because of the seating but i was without wheels and the truck looked good inside and out so i bought it

Hey Grizz what kind of shape are your bucket seats in? I have a bench seat in my 94 and would love bucket seats. Whats the arrangement is there a console in the middle? I can't remember. Mine is in great shape but it is grey and a solid bench with either side tilting forward for rear seat access.

I hear ya man. Didn't realise how cheap they are in the junkyards either. Local Pick n Pull selles em in manual for 25 dollars a piece. You may check where your at.
