83 f150 charging problem

83 f150 charging problem

please help. i have an 83 4x4 f150 with a 302 manual tranny. good battery brand new alternator good starter brand new voltage regulator and new sylenoid. i can jump the truck or push start it and it will start but the voltage regulater isnt registering to charge the battery. is there a wire that i need to look for or something else? i am stumped.

try the clutch safety switch, not sure where it is on your truck though.

also check your negative cables [any ground cables], for corrosion and clean them, re-attach.

have you had someone actually test the battery? if a battery gets bad enough sometimes it wont take the charge. other than that i agree with the above reply. the guys in the pre97 forum will be familiar with your system

yes they tested the battery and ive tried a few different ones. but ok ill post there

i dont have a battery indicator lamp i just have the gauge.
