1996 fuel problem

I have a 1996 f-150 4.9 L. engine 5 speed transmision. It starts fine when cold, but after i drive it for awhile and shut it off it sputters when restarted within a few minutes after shutting off.symtoms are worse in the summer. I have discovered this only happens when i'm useing the front gas tank. The truck starts and runs fine on the rear tank. I'm thinking possible bad fuel pump.
