Has anyone swapped steering wheels with

has anyone swapped steering wheels from their pre 97 F150 with a new model F150, F250; mainly with the audio system controls, airbag, etc.

I know it would be complicated job and I don't care because I can figure out a way to wire that up evcentually.

I'm just wondering if the physical steering wheel would fit onto the pre 97 steering column.

Thanks

It's not complicated, and the wiring is easy. You don't have to worry about the airbag - it's 100% foolsafe. The column didn't change from '92-up, so all the parts are basically interchangeable. Click my tan CV in my signature & read the captions in the Steering Column album.

BTW
The audio controls will only work with a Ford radio designed to have wheel-mounted controls.

thank you Steve83; looks like a complicated job, but that's the fun part of customizing.
