Tracking Problem

I have a 93 F-150 XL 2WD 4.9L. I just had the front-end aligned and the truck pulls to the right now. They put the truck back on the machine and verified the alignment and said it was the tires. I had the tires rotated and the problem is still there. If I am running down the highway and let go of the wheel, the truck will shoot to the right immediately. If I slam on the brakes, the truck will pull to the left. The only suspension changes is a radius are bushing was replaced on the right side of the truck. Any tips?

Thanks,

Justin

It sounds like some kind of brake problem.Check both calipers, rotors and brake pads to see if anything is hanging up.

I replaced both soft brake lines and both calipers. I too thought it may be a brake problem, maybe a sticky caliper. Changing the brakes only lightened my wallet and I still have the tracking problem. It was a good thought, unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

Thanks.

The Twin I-Beam suspensions are hard to align. If you've put in any kind of drop or lift most shops won't know how to do it. Take it to another shop and have them look it over. When i used to do alignments i would test drive the vehicle, check all front end parts, check the brakes, and check tire wear and tire pressure before aligning it. Any of those things not perfect will throw the alignment off. Your best bet would be a ford dealer but it will cost you lots of $$.
