88' F150 Engine Oil Leak

88' F150 Engine Oil Leak

I have an 88' F150 4X4 with the 5.0L 302 engine. It recently started leaking oil on the passenger side. I can see it dripping from about half way down the engine block. Sorry I'm new to Do It Yourself vehicle repair. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

First, pinpoint the source of the leak. Study this:

It just looks like it's coming out around one of the spark plugs. Is that a common place for a leak?

It's an impossible place. It's coming down from above, and pooling the plug well. You probably need a valve cover gasket, which is a VERY common repair on any engine this old.
