90 4.9 injectors

90 4.9 injectors

i got a 90 f150 4.9 t18 4x2 got bad injectors. my cousen gave me a set of 6 he had sittin in his garage so i took the o-rings nosels n filter out of them got the rebuild kit and did a cem-dip on them then i got to thinking we dont know what 6 they came from and i wanted to make sure they will work before i pull the plenum. they r yellow top so that 19 psi? the numbers on the side is E5TE-A3B.just want to be sure they will work

The correct injectors for a 4.9 are rated for 14#/hr @ 39 PSI. At the higher fuel pressure of the 4.9, they flow about 17#/hr. They usually have a light grey top.

If those injectors are 19#/hr, they are WAY too big for the stock PCM. They will flow over 23#/hr at the 4.9's pressure setting.

What's wrong with the originals, exactly? I've abused the hell outta my engine, and I've worked on many other 4.9Ls, and I've never seen a Ford fuel injector go bad for any reason other than mechanical damage (being crushed in a wreck, or burned).



BTW
My 4.9L runs fine at the same ~35psi as the V8s.

If they're not leaking, have the right resistance, and click when you apply power, they're fine.

they are leaking a clicking bad at idle

ive had an 88 and 95 strait 6 and a 93 5.0 none of them ever clicked but the new injectors do too got another set of grey tops chem diped and rebuilt them n put em in trucks alot quicker and better throttle responce
