300 exhaust
Well I've got the Gibson SuperTruck and can't say that I'm 100% pleased with it. I think they have a pretty good product and I got this setup via F-150 On-Line contact (there is not a SuperTruck for the 4.9..this one is actually made for late model units but I have a very good performance muffler shop right around the corner from my house) but...I think that if I had gone with just either no muffler or the bare min baffled (as close to a cherry bomb as possible) and ran them out the back it would actually sound better. You hear more of a "rumble" inside the cab (You WILL notice it!) but you just don't have a V8 pumping through the muffler. I've even considered taking the SuperTruck system back off. (I really don't want to seem like I'm slaming the SuperTruck system...I knew and accepted the risk when I got it..I've even considered "sneaking" the "muffler" part on the wife's Expedition..I KNOW it would sound Bad A#$ then!)
My Edelbrock cat back has the muffler and then two pipes from there back. It's alot better than it was, but not as cool as it could be. Sounds like a stock V8 with a hi-po muffler.
Take care

It sounds really mean. Real Mean. I cut the exhaust just after the Pre-cat (used it as the y pipe) and ran a straight pipe just behind the passenger door. I dont know how it would sound with true dual exhaust, but i think it would really be bad. Like a 3-cyl Geo on steriods. Bad Steriods.
