Small lift

Does anyone have one of these older trucks with a 2.5 or so inch lift.
I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and order the small lift or keep saving for a 4".
I'm not so sure about a 4 inch because it is my DD and I don't want to get things too complicated.
I really just want to see if the 2.5" will even do much for the looks of the truck.

The reason I'm aiming for a 2.5 is cost and drive-ability. With a 4" lift I'm gunna want 35's and that means regear or sucky mileage and since starting next school year I'm going to be driving all over tarnation for clinicals and I can't afford to be putting more into gas than I already do.

Sounds like you need to quit worrying about a lift and save your money. If you are contemplating whether or not youll have gas money with bigger tires, you probably dont need to lift the truck.

Civic. Ha. I'd rather drive a big truck with 10mpg than a civic.
What size is your gas tank though? I usually get roughly 100 miles to a half a tank.
But my truck is running rich at the moment and its only a 4.9 as compared to yours which is a big block isn't it?

I have 4.11's and a 4spd. The only way to do good on gas is not drive the truck.

If its for looks, then why not go with a body lift?

I despise of body lifts unless it is on top of a suspension lift.
They are a pain to install and do nothing for the truck besides make bumper gaps and allow bigger tires that will do you no good when the axle gets hung up.

suspension lifts dont give you more ground clearance with the axles only tires do

my truck has a 5.0 in it midly modified but the tank is like 15 or 18 gal size cant remember gonna take it out and put in two 20 gal fuel cells in the bed that should do good
