Tranny issue - not sure????

My 93 f150 5.8 auto has an issue I never came acroos before.

When first started in the morning (especially when cold), I start it and let it run a few minutes (4-5), I put it in DRIVE and I can feel it engage.

The first few take-offs from a dead stop it almost feels like the transmission is slipping, but it shifts pretty solid.

After a mile or so, take-offs from a stop give no indication of sllipping....smooth and progressive with good solid shifting.

I recently changed the transmission fluid and added a bottle of Lucas Trans fix and nothing is different.

I am also wondering if it could really be an engine issue with a sensor acting up until it gets warm...I dunno.

IDEAS?!?!?!!? Thanks in advance...Dave

WHICH auto does it have? If you don't know, read this caption & follow the links in it:

Then put the truck's specs in your profile &/or signature so you don't have to remember to type them next time.

The one in the caption of my diagram shows MANY more transmissions than that one.

But in a 93 with a 351 he's going to have an E4OD or an outside possibility of a C6.

There were 3 autos available for F150s in 93 (C6, AOD, E4OD), but it's moot. As soon as he checks the door code, he'll know.

With a 351, it won't be an AOD.

AOD: PRN(D)D1
E4OD: PRN(D)21 with OD lockout button
C6: PRND21
