I was working on a chart with all that info, but most of the Maxtor HDDs in my other computer crashed, so I'm having to recover what data I can before replacing some of them & then reloading a bunch of stuff. I don't think I'll pull all 1.5Tb back in it, though - I got a WD 2Tb external that I'm going to try to hook up to the router as a file server. Anyway, it's gonna take a little while...

No worries man, good luck. My Seagate did that to me and I thought I lost about 500 Gb. Thankfully it was under warranty and when I shipped it in they were able to recover it all. I think it was only a firmware issue though. Maybe your drives are under warranty? If it's partition issues I've always used Hiren's Boot CD for repair.

No, these are all over 5yo, and they're losing sectors & corrupting files/directories. But it's only the Maxtors - the WDs, Seagates, Samsung, etc. are OK - even the old ones.

It's not a hijack if the thread is inactive.

I recommend Energy Polyurethane bushings everywhere they're available.

Only use the stock 190° t'stat in all engines/climates.
