'94 power steering pump removal

I have a 1994 ford f150 4x4 ext. cab xlt, and i'm replacing the power steering pump after 190,000 miles of service. I was about to remove the bracket when it looked like it was attached to the A/C pump also. It looked like if i didn't want to remove the A/C pump, i could remove the pulley on the power steering pump, and then loosen the bolts and pull the pump out the back of the bracket.

So what should i do? Remove the A/C unit also? And then the entire bracket? I'm kind of leaning towards that idea, but if you have any suggestions i would really appreciate it.

Use a pulley puller to remove the P/S pulley, then unbolt the pump from the bracket. Removing the bracket gains nothing but unnecessary work.

BTW
Instead of replacing it with the same C2 unit, consider upgrading to a Saginaw from an E-series with the same engine. It's a much better pump, in every way. The only catch is that you'll need the E150 bracket & hoses, too.

I ended up removing the airconditioning pump and taking the whole bracket out. I was pulling the pulley out with a pulley puller, and the @#$%ing pulley broke in half. Autozone or advanced auto parts would have to have power steering pulleys right?

There's no way to break the pulley with a P/S pulley puller. You must have been using a jaw puller. The correct one pulls by the steel hub; not by the plastic pulley.

IDK if parts stores carry that pulley, but I wouldn't use one from the zone if they paid me. I'd rather get an original Ford pulley from a JY.
