my truck dies going down the road....

I have an 86 f150 5.0, and just like the title says it dies goin the road....I will be drivin down the road and it jus dies with out an unusual noise or anything strange like that. The good thing is that I jus shift it into neutral(automatic) and fires right up...sometimes I do have to pull over and crank it a couple times. it runs and idles perfect. Just last week I replaced the cap and rotor, wires and spark plugs. ANY HELP GREATLY APPREACIATED

check ignition module, also check the relays for your fuel pump.

Two possibles on your truck. The first is the TFI or Thin Film Ignition which should be a grey or black module on the side of the dizzy. These are known to go bad but usually once they've gotten hot, they have to cool down before the engine will fire again. So this is a maybe but not likely item. The other is the MAP sensor starting to go bad. It'll do just what you're experiencing with the engine just cutting off but usually will restart without issues. This would be the place I would start to fix the problem.
