Ignition Problems

I have a 1986 Ford F150 it came original with a 351W with fuel injection i think. But right now it has a 1974 351W that cam out of a LTD it is rebuilt with a performance cam and it is bored 60 over. it has a Edelbrock performer intake with a Edelbrock 600cfm carb. i just put a new igition model on the steering colum and put a new brain box under the hood. My problem is the coil is getting very hot and the truck getts to skipping real bad and the motor dies and will not crank back if anybody can help i would appreciate it thanks

From my experience with the 460 big block having a hot coil, is there's either a bad ground on your harness linking all the electronics in the engine, a swapped ground and positive, or just simply a bad coil. Swap the coil first with a higher amp one, if that doesn't work, check all your connections. It might take a few troubleshooting steps to get it right.

if you're here for help and to share ideas, great. This isn't your first post of this nature. If you're going to be a child, go elsewhere. Don't bother responding to this either, I have better things to do.
