My 4.9 liter 95 f150 wont shift into 3rd and sometimes it will its like if you drive it for a couple hours it just wont shift and if you let off the gas sometimes it will and it jumps into gear and has lost alot of power

 

Hi - I've moved your thread out of the section set up for comments about the forum itself and into the section devoted to older model trucks. You should get more responses here.

You need to give us more information - for instance, what maintenance has been done on your truck? How long has this problem been going on? Have you checked the transmission fluid level, etc.

any idea on what kind of transmission it has C6 /AOD?
or the electronic controlled?
electronic controlled, i would say check your ground,
C6 my first thought would be stuck kickdown or bad vacuum modulator.

 

Neither - a 95 4.9 will have a E4OD.

 

forgot the name of the E4OD (it was the electronic one i stated) troubleshooting these starts with a check of the grounds but more i don't really know about them.
