my moms got a little 90 bronco ii with the 2.9 v6 and it had the same problem. on a cold start it would idle really bad like it wanted to shut off and when driving it was really slow. it took forever to pick up speed she was nearly flooring it to keep up with traffic. it turned out to be my lower intake gasket. it was a bitch to get everything off but it fixed the problem
