front coil spacers and aal?
i convinced my bud to get an f150 a couple months ago
it is a 94 4wd xl and he wants to lift it a little. he was looking at getting coil spacers and an aal, but he, and i, dont know if the aal really give you the full amount advertised. he want to keep the stock rake, or even increase the rake a little for towing. he is lookin at a 2" or 3" aal. so what do you guys think?

Do not use spacers with these trucks...stupid and cheap way to get the truck to sit level. Putting a spacer in a pre-2004 F-150 is completly different than with the new trucks. I have Rancho leveling coils on my 92' and love them. Make sure to tell him to replace the shocks while he's at it. No sense in replacing springs and leaving crappy shocks on the truck.
As far as the AAL goes, measure the truck and see how much it would need. Every truck is different and will sit different with ifferent springs. Age, condition and shape of the springs all come into play here. I would say off hand that a 1.5-2 inch AAL will get the job done.
The above advice about camber bushings is correct on some trucks. Most trucks will need them after installing taller springs without axle drop brackets. However, some trucks, mine included, do not need them and will align just fine. Have them on hand when the truck goes to the alignment shop and if they aren't needed, you can return them.

ahhh i dont know why but i totally forgot i still had 2" progressive coil springs that i had on my truck before i lifted it! i paid 125 for them hopefully he'll buy em for 100 condsidering i had them on the truck for 500 miles. and thanks for the shock tip and the camber! thanks he'll appreciate it!
