Dealers, most decent independent repair garages, and some quick oil change joints. In TX, you should be able to find a shop that has a BG machine, they are based out of Wichita and are pretty big in this part of the country. I paid $85 at the Ford dealer here for a BG job 2 years ago.

I suppose if you were very careful, you could approximate it yourself sucking a can of Seafoam into it. I decided to have the dealer do it as part of a routine tuneup at 84k, figured it wouldn't hurt. I trust my dealer, they do good work here. The expense was not a factor, I'm not a cheap bastard when it comes to taking care of my truck.

Im not a cheap bastard. But I really hate to throw money away on something that dont work. Not saying that dont work I have never heard of that before. Anyway, its kinda like going out to eat at a nice resturant. I dont really care what it costs if I want it but at 6'3 and 275 lbs, I dont eat like a barbee doll eather. The cost, as long as something works, is not really a factor

I hear ya. If you have over 100k on the engine and it's never had an intake and combustion chamber cleaning, it sure wouldn't hurt anything to do it and it may fix it. In the old days, we used to dump stuff down the carb throat to do exactly that - or disconnect the fuel line, plug it, and use a gravity feed kit to run the engine on straight solvent made for that exact purpose. These days, you gotta be careful what you use and how you use it, it's too easy to cook the cats.

No Cat. I had it removed because I was told it may be clogged, causing the clatter. It didnt help, in fact now Im told that removing the Cat probably is why I lost some off line grunt. Man I miss the old Carburator days w/ no emmissions ect...

Removing the cat isn't gonna hurt the bottom end if you have a muffler that gives you *some* backpressure. Speaking of which, maybe you have an issue with collapsed muffler baffles or a kinked pipe somewhere?

nope still clattering, I have not had a chance to pull the injectors and have them cleaned. I found a place that sells them remanufactured and you have to send you olds ones back but they are Bosch brand. Anyone know if they are good injectors or should I just have mine cleaned. Its about the same price ( about 200,00)

Cleaning is ok if the injectors aren't fractured or otherwise not functioning correctly. Personally, I think a couple of em are pooched! Did you ever do a f/p bleed down time check?
