next up: SAS!

for those of you that followed my engine swap tread back in november, im starting a new project: SAS!!!!

well, i dropped the ball on a pair of axles, their not one ton's, but they'll do fine for me... D44 front and 8.8 rear... they both already have 4.56's in them, new brakes front and rear, heim'd drag link and tie rod. the 8.8 im just buying because its easier to swap the axle than it is to swap the gears. the D44 well you can guess that one haha. anywho, there was no shavings in the crevices in the pumpkins, and seem pretty clean... just having the 4.56's is worth it to me cus ive been quoted 600 per axle to have the gear swap done

first thing im doing is swapping the 8.8 to gain lost power, but for the front i havent decided on how i want to set it up yet, i'd like to go 4-link coil-over but i dont know if i could afford it for a few more months... main cost is just the shocks... all the tube and metal i get at cost...

sweet! i dont know when ill be able to start on the front... im only working with 350 bucks a month to spend on the truck till my hours pick back up at work... im really leaning towards 4-link though, just something not many ppl have in our body style trucks. everyone is using rad arms or leafs. my D44 has enough tube where i can weld some link brackets up...

I love your truck, Probably because it's everything I wish my 93 was but never will be. Good luck on the SAS, can't wait to see it when it's done.

Cool. This is a fairly easy process to convert, isn't it? Well at least easier then that of the 97-03's. I wish I could do a SAS on my truck.

Anyway, good luck. I'll be checking in.

if i go radius arm its basically bolt on, but im leaning towards 4-link and coil over shocks, more fabrication-involved. and whats more awesome than a home-brewed on a minimum wage 4-link truck? lol
