i've been leaning more to making it a street truck with a cammed 302, nothing flashy but a decent cam that sounds good. not really looking for a whole lot of power, just reliable and budget friendly. i like doing projects on a budget if i can just get myself some more spare time and motivation

your year model truck probably has a aode which doesnt have a throttle kickdown cable. the aod received electronic controls in '91. you would have to get a stand alone control unit for your transmission to work properly. i'd just go to the junkyard pull the parts you need and keep it FI. can be easily done on a budget and save up and slowly build a street motor. i swapped out my 302 for a low mileage 351 for no more than 800 bucks.

the aod was put in the f150 up til 93 then in 94 they put the aode in them. my 93 still has the aod, i originally thought it was the aode but.... nope, its an aod. a stock 351 will tear an aod apart pretty quick if you ever decide to play around, thats why the 351 got the c6 and e40d

and x2 with keeping FI, a donor truck with a good engine and trans will make an easy swap and you'll have everything you'll need so thats what i would do.

i have seen 92's and 93's with aode, just it depends on what each factory had at the time hence why i said "probably" lol it might or might not we dont know until we get some answers
