2 mufflers to y pipe or y pipe to one muffler?

i decided to just take the easy way instead of trying to fit duals on the truck so i was wondering the above question. will there be any sound difference? i wanna run glasspacks and i have no cats.

IMO theres no point in running 2 mufflers unless its gonna be true duals. so i would say 1 glasspack then a y pipe. i've never heard one with a y pipe then 2 glasspacks so i dont know the sound difference.

from what i've read and installed on these trucks just si/so works best. if you really prefer the dual exhaust look then go for it but, do it right with true duals. i have a buddy running si/do on his truck and compared to mine now, i think mine sounds more aggresive when putting out the rpms and more smooth at idle.

alright thanks guys sounds good. a friend said that 2 mufflers would sound smoother but i was just gonna run the two pipes out of the headers over to the passenger side and then to a y pipe and then a glasspack and then out in front of the right rear tire. how loud will it be with no cat and a glasspack?

personally i dont like glasspacks on a single exhaust, just straight piped. keep a cat involved tho because you never know about emitions in your area.

yes i know i should have a cat but when the previous owner made the exhaust he didn't put a cat on. i drive under 5k a year so i don't need emissions tests done. but i sure don't wanna get pulled over though so i don't want it ridiculously loud. what size y pipe would u guys recommend for the single out part?

Just use a stock replacement Y-pipe and go to a single 3" exhaust from the Y back
